Known for his rockabilly songs

“C’mon Everybody,” “Something Else,” “Twenty Flight Rock” and “Summertime Blues,”

Cochran was on a triumphant concert tour of Britain in the spring of 1960 when he was killed in a car accident. He died on April 16, 1960 when the taxi carrying him from a show in Bristol, England, crashed en route to the airport,

he was 21.

Ike designed Tina’s dress. He made up the stage name Tina because it rhymed with the name Sheena. He was inspired by “Sheena, Queen of the Jungle” to create the persona “Tina Turner.”
